UDUBB: I have always been interested in the process of making music

We are happy to welcome another talent to Radio Intense - UDUBB!

Belfast born Dj/Producer UDUBB started out as a DJ in 1999, then shortly after in 2005 started to learn how to produce music across multiple genres. His sound can mainly be identified as a mixture of deep powerful kicks, raw techno basslines, paired with melodic hypnotic lead & pad elements that will take you on a journey through time and space. He also expresses his passion for this contrasting style of raw and powerful techno in his DJ sets.

Hey UDUBB, how are you? Could you present yourself for those who don't know you?
— Hello, I'm very well thanks for having me! My name is Wayne I am DJ/Producer from Northern Ireland!
Like on many people, music has a huge influence on me as well. How about yourself? How and when did you first get into music industry?
— Well I have always been around music from a very early age its something that has always been present in my family home from pop music to upbeat 90's house music there was always music playing. So around the age of 12 I got my first set of decks as I was very interested in the mixing process, at first it was very overwhelming as you could imagine but I slowly got the hang of things and the passion just kept growing stronger and stronger!
Was techno your first choice between genres or did you naturally progress towards techno?
— No it was not my first choice as I think music is a journey and you have to experience different genres, but as a 18yr old teenager finding myself at local clubbing institution SHINE who have hosted the best party's and artists for many years, I was watching on to the likes of Derick May, Jeff Mills, Dave Clarke, Slam, Ben Sims & Carl Cox it was then that I knew techno was the way forward!
When did you realize you wanted to make your own tracks?
— Looking back on things now I must say that I have always been interested in the process of making music, but it was when I turned 18 around 2005 and regularly attending night clubs every weekend that i started to make my own music!
What are you currently focusing on as an artist?
— I am just focusing on being a better producer and spending many hours in my studio trying to perfect my sounds!
— You have a new release "Planetecoming soon on Suro Records. What can you tell about the release?
— It's my second EP on Suro Records this year and I am very happy to be back on board again! The release consists of two tracks the A-side is a peak time techno track with a solid lead sound with supporting bass stabs and percussion to complement! The B-side is more of a moody techno track with a rolling kick and bass groove with hypnotic lead and pad elements!
How is the techno scene in Northern Ireland?
— Our clubs only reopened on the 31st of October 2021! So as you can imagine things are quite slow! But generally speaking we have a huge and vibrant nightlife with many talented artists and events!
Finally, have you any upcoming releases that you would like to share?
— Yes I have a four track EP coming out on Dolma Records on the 20th of December hopefully everyone can check it out and let me know what they think!

Thanks for having me today!
