We're pleased to welcome you to our next guest, legendary Roland Clark!

Longstanding American house legend Roland Clark marks the relaunch of Vibe Me To The Moon this April with his new single, Dance Or Die. The label will follow this up with a plethora of new releases throughout the year, from some of the industry's most-esteemed artists.

We sat down with the man himself to find out more!
— Hi Roland, a pleasure to have you with us today! How are you and whereabouts are you right now?
— I reside about 25 minutes outside of Washington DC… for now.
— So, we're pleased to be chatting today ahead of the release of your track 'Dance Or Die' which is set to mark the relaunch of Nightsteppaz' Vibe Me To The Moon imprint. What can you tell us about this one?
— The tune is basically a metaphor, that says you better get moving in life because time waits for no man, so Dance or Die.
How did the release first come about and what is your relationship with Nighsteppaz and the label like?
— Like most nights I was home contemplating life in general and had realized the day slipped by without me even noticing, I wasted 8 hours in a blink of an eye.. I Never wanted to do that again, hence the inspiration for the tune.
With a legendary status earned from over 30 years in the game, we'd love to hear a bit about where it all began for you. What was it that first drew you to music?
— I'd like to say I officially started with every release until I get a Grammy. So instead of 30, 3 years tops. I started in a 4000 square foot recording studio in Manhattan, basically myself and a few friends living like hippies and getting by on pizza and soda, engineering by day and partying by night. My draw to music was quite accidental.. Working in a recording studio kinda tips the scales on what you're going to do with your life.
— Was there a point where you knew that music was going to be your life and career?
— Yes, when I attempted to get a real job, I realized the application would literally say nothing but my name and address. I've always worked in the music business and I suspect I always will, God willing.
Who were some of your main influences early on?
— My very first influence is my mentor Calvin Gaines who has pegged tunes by Destiny Child, Joe, Lady GaGa and Whitney Houston, secondly I would have to say Prince, Stevie Wonder, Al Green, and Gil Scott Heron.
And what about now, are there any artists currently that keep you inspired?
— I would have to say guys like Bon Iver, he basically all I'm listening to these days.

With more and more artists hoping to break through nowadays, what would be your best piece of advice you could offer to an up-and-comer?
— Run, run as fast as you can away… No but seriously, just believe in yourself and wake up sleeping and eating that very belief.
— Roland, thank you for your time today! What's next for you now? Is there anything else upcoming that you can share with us?
— Yes I have several projects I'm excited about one being another tune coming out on Get Physical Music with Vintage Culture, and a tune I released not long ago with remixes coming down the pipeline called "Rise Up" out now on Todd Terry's label.. Terminator Records.
