Nakadia: the girl who proved the world that she's worth it

We are happy to welcome the 21stcentury phenomenon, an amazing Nakadia on Codex. This girl has proven the world that she's worth it. And we were honored to speak with Nakadia about her fresh release "Scream" and her expectations for the future.
Hello Nakadia! How are you today?
— Hi guys, I am pretty busy but very happy today because after more than 6 months without gigs, I have my first performance with a dance floor full of people tonight in Berlin. It's crazy: 6 months nothing and now 4 gigs in one weekend. And afterwards probably another 6 months of home work.
Tell us more about your new release "Scream". What is a story behind it?
— The tracks on the Scream! Where already produced in 2018. At first I had a softer version of "Liquid blue" and friends told me this was the best track I ever produced. But I could not play it often because my sets are usually a bit harder, so I decided to get back on it and make a harder version. When I played it for the first time people went crazy! It became the highlight of my sets. I added "Scream" and "Check the music" to complete the EP. After I send the EP to Carl Cox, he immediately loved "Scream" and played it all over the world for the past 2 years. He actually plays most of my tracks, but this one he really keeps playing all the time. It's an amazing feeling when I am right behind him and the track starts playing… I have a feeling this EP has a lot potential, its just a shame there are hardly any parties right now.
What is your favorite track on the EP?
— I absolutely love "liquid blue" – and it really makes all dancefloors go crazy.

You have been on different labels throughout your career, what makes Codex the place where you decided to make the release?

I have followed Codex for a long time now and the label keeps releasing the most amazing music. Codex represents exactly the style of music I play and produce, so it's a perfect match. I hope Codex will become a home for my music now.
Are you working in the studio right now as well?
— Yes, but instead of producing tracks, I try to use the time to learn more and get to know my equipment better. Corona time is my chance to study and get better.
What else is on the front line for 2020? Any exciting news you would like to share?
— There is not much exciting about 2020, but the one thing that could become something exciting is, that I am writing my book. The story of the little Thai girl that grew up without electricity or running water and had to go through so many struggles and a crazy rollercoaster ride of endless up's and down's until she finally arrived in Europe and lived her dream as worldwide successful DJ. My story has so many crazy details that nobody knows yet… and even some film companies are interested to make a movie about it. So I am working on that during the Corona year and hopefully this will become reality in 2021.
